Murmurations

Murmurations  is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Megan Choritz and Louise Westerhout. This work, that we have tried to present twice before, but were corona-thwarted, is finally being presented and is a result of our experiences  during this time of virus, loss and lockdown.  It is the final production of Theatre Arts' 2m Apart open-ended season, and this work is a response to how we can make live performance in a world pushed apart.

Inspired by the movement of swarms in perfect harmonious choreography, without a leader or predetermination - Murmurations has swayed and turned, flowed and been made visible. Of course, because of every stop and start, the content and delivery are no longer what they were.  There was so much to talk about, to deal with, to wrestle with and come to terms with that Megan and Louise  decided to make an individual, themed performance for each of the nights.

Wednesday 19 May - Night one - Wuthering Heights – ghosts, old lives, and Kate Bush. The death of theatre and its autopsy during the pandemic. The ghosts of marriage, truth and art are invited to be present. Wear a red dress.

Thursday 20 May - Night two - Pirate Jenny and other Femme Slayers – tonight is all about how hard it is for us to stop ourselves from killing men. Trigger Warning: GBV. Disco of Revenge.

Friday 21 - Night three – Apocalypse, Armageddon and Revelation – dark ritual, exit stories and options for exiting, we will walk you home

These hour-long experiences are narrative, real, connected, image rich moments, that are serious, fun, emotional, honest and extreme.
