The real life stories of three people who once lived on the streets of Cape Town and who have transformed their lives.

This 45-minute performance will be followed by a 30-minute conversation.

Humans of the Streets is a project of Streetscapes, an NGO that works to re-integrate people who live on the streets back into society by offering jobs, medical care, harm reduction initiatives and counselling.

Three Streetscapes’ peers – people who formerly lived on the streets but now seek to help others still on the streets – tell their stories in this moving piece of theatre.

Not trained actors, Jonathan Manuel, Staysher Julies and Cyprian Manqola provide the raw material for the work from their lived experienced and it has been shaped into a piece of theatre that combines verbatim theatre and other theatrical elements.

The authenticity is enhanced by those whose stories are told, doing the telling in this drama.
