Scene Study Tools
In this two-day workshop, Jonathan Vandenberg, faculty at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama Graduate Directing Program, introduces selected fundamental tools for theatre directors to engage in script analysis and scene work with actors.
Drawing from the Stanislavski and post-Stanislavski traditions, the workshop explores Events, Objectives, and Actions, all in service of crafting scenes with dramatic arc. Whether you are a beginning or experienced director, this workshop will deepen your understanding of script analysis and the director’s work with actors.
