The Cracked House mirrors the South African unstable and often tragic political dilemma. Three siblings reunite after thirty-one years of tragic separation, uniting after the sudden death of their mother, who for long, endured a horrible illness and the constant knowledge of her children abandoning her. In their encounter, on the mother’s funeral day, they are forced to navigate a difficult conversation that deals with their past traumas, setbacks, broken promises and hint at possible reparations — if reparations can in fact exist.
