Deborah Gildenhuys is a drama teacher and director with 37 years experience and ran Spotlight Drama Studio for 27 years, providing drama classes, drama exam training and producing plays for young people . In 2023 she decided to re open as Spotlight Youth Theatre committed to producuing quality theatre for young people with young people.
Our Jungle Story is directed by Lauren Bates, one of the earlier members of the Studio. Lauren is now a Shakespeare Masters Graduate, a Teacher and Theatre Practitioner in her own right and is the founder of Educasions, a Theatre group who dramatise school setworks.
Melanie O’Çonnor Horn is an experienced teacher of English and Drama, involved in theatre marketing and encouraging new playwrights, as well as being a writer herself.
The cast is made up of young people from schools around the peninsula from the ages of 9-16 all with a love of acting and story-telling.
