The Shadow of Brel combines the passion of this timeless songwriter with artistry of Godfrey Johnson, to create a compelling world of story-telling through song.

GodfreyJohnson has been in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. He has performed in over 30 productions. Stage work include numerous one man shows as well as film and television roles. He was a lead in David Moores, Once Upon a Roadtrip, Robert Silkes, The Satyr of Springbok Heights and Hard Times.

He has performed in London, Montreal and Amsterdam with various shows as well as at major theatres  in South Africa.

Other notable stage roles include playing Noel Coward opposite Pieter-Dirk Uys in Noel and Marlene and appearing in David Kramer's, Orpheus in Africa, Bambi Sings The FAK songs, The Minnie and Johnson Show, Marc Lottering and Godfrey Johnson in Cabaret, Songs my Lover Forgot to Sing to Me, Coward and Cole and Godfrey Johnson in Cabaret.

Johnson has appeared in numerous adverts notably as the choir master in the "Klipdrift" advert and he is a popular corporate performer and writer.

He is a voice, piano, composition and drama coach who has taught at UCT and The Rainbow Academy.

Community work include working with compromised children and youth within various communities throughout South Africa.
